Mazooma Coffee Co.

brand identity

Mazooma
Coffee Co.

A self-initiated coffee brand built to look fast before it even moved.

Mazooma Coffee Co. started with a simple assignment: create a hot rod–inspired coffee brand, then bring it to life in 60-, 30-, and 15-second commercials. I treated motion as part of the identity from the beginning, building the name, lettering, illustration, packaging, and merchandise around the same loud, restless attitude.

SCOPE

Brand strategy, naming, visual identity, custom lettering, illustration, packaging, and motion

DELIVERABLES

Logo system, packaging, merchandise, and 60-, 30-, and 15-second commercials

THIS WASN’T GOING TO BE A QUIET CUP OF COFFEE

The identity translates the speed, distortion, humor, and hand-built attitude of hot rod culture into a caffeinated visual system. Custom lettering, exaggerated illustration, high-contrast graphics, and frenetic motion position Mazooma less as a quiet morning ritual and more as fuel for the fast lane.

The name draws from mazooma—old American slang for money—while the broader visual language takes cues from custom-car graphics, underground comics, and midcentury automotive ephemera. Rather than reproducing a single reference, the project distills that culture’s visual mechanics into a system designed to work across packaging, merchandise, and commercial ads.
